As Charles Dickens famously wrote in The Tale of Two Cities...

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times", and today we echo that in this blog post.  We have both sad and good news on the watch front.

OK, OK, it is nowhere near as important as the madness going on in the world right now - but it's big for us.

The Yorkshire Mk II model is officially retired today. We have sold all our stock and have moved on to the Mk III model.  So sad to see an old favourite move to the archives, but equally excited to see the arrival of the new model too.

You may not know, but this is the only model in our range that has made it to the third edition. Both through popularity and as a reliable chronograph, it has made its mark on us.  Based on older drawings from Albert, our founder, we have refined the design to meet the demand for the quartz timer, the ruggedness of the model, and the classic design, and have evolved it with each new edition.

So, the Arabic numerals have given way to applied batons. Whilst we intend to keep the same movement/calibre inside (because it works so well) we have moved to a metal bracelet but kept the blue that made the Mk II so popular, We do hope you welcome this edition of the classic Wagstaff in the same way as you did the Mk I and Mk II.  We have also improved the glass to sapphire crystal, maintaining the water resistance at 100m, while toughening the case thickness and enhancing shock insulation.

The MkIII is a new classic in the making, and as before, it will be made in limited numbers, so whilst it is the worst of times, retiring a model, it is the best of times, launching the new model.  We hope we have the MkIII at the Great Yorkshire Show 2025.  See you there.
